Non-Music Related Things to do in Nashville as a Newcomer

Going to Nashville for the first time? We want to help you out! We’ve got some awesome things you should enjoy in Nashville as a newcomer. Here we go!

You need to try out the Nashville Hot Chicken

You have to try Nashville hot chicken. Prince’s Hot Chicken is where the locals go, and it’s where you should go too. Pro tip: don’t be embarrassed to bring milk with you if hot chicken is too much for you. There’s no shame! Also, if you’re unsure, go with Mild. Even Medium heat can melt your face off if you’re not used to it.

Enjoy the local coffee scene

Different people travel and move to Nashville because it’s a collaborative community. A lot of the communal gold is found at local coffee shops. Ugly Mugs in East Nashville is a hidden gem, while Fido near Vanderbilt University has been a mainstay for over 20 years.

Sports!

Nashville’s sports scene has become something locals take pride in. The Tennessee Titans of the NFL and Nashville Predators hockey team in the NHL are both extremely popular and fun to attend depending on the time of year you visit. Nashville recently launched an expansion soccer team in the MLS in Nashville SC. The Nashville Sounds baseball games are great for small children as a mini golf course and bounce houses are also present at games.

Check out the exceptional Nashville food

The food scene in Nashville has grown to national prominence. City House and Husk, both in Germantown, are incredible! Just be sure to make a reservation well ahead of time. Arnold’s Meat & 3 is a staple for lunch, just be prepared to wait in line!

Nashville is a growing city with a lot of amazing things to do. Nashville offers great food, sports, music, community, and more. Turns out, more than 100 people are moving to Nashville every single day. If you are thinking about moving there, I would recommend Move On. They’re a local company who some friends have used when they moved to Nashville. The city is an amazing place to be, even if you’re just visiting. I hope this list gives you some ideas for what Nashville has to offer.
